Senator representing Kaduna Senatorial District in the upper chamber of National Assembly, Shehu Sani on Friday donated variety of drugs to permanent orientation camp, Kilometre 16, Kaduna-Abuja Highway.
The drugs according to the senator is meant for the upkeep of corps members who are currently camping there for their 21-day orientation course.
Represented by his Special Assistant (New Media), Abdul-samad Chimma Amadi, the lawmaker said, since the camp falls under his constituency, it became necessary to support the corps members in any way he can so their medical needs can be well taking care of which will make them healthy ahead their primary assignment anytime soon.
“The Senator has sent us to be here this afternoon. He wanted to come in person but due to his tight schedule he could not make it and that is why we are here on his behalf.
“Yes, as a senator representing Kaduna Central which your orientation camp falls, he deemed it fit to identified with these young Nigerian graduates who are here in Kaduna for national service.
“So he has sent this drug for medical needs of our corps members so they can stay healthy while here especially as they are set for their primary assignment in the state. We pray for your sound health as you began your mandatory service to your motherland”, he told corps members.
Receiving the item on behalf of the State Coordinator of NYSC in the State, Mallam Bello Ballama, the Camp Director, Alhaji Haiba Salisu thanked the senator for the gesture saying, the drugs will be judiciously used for the purpose it was meant for.
Also speaking, the Corp Pharmacist in charge of the camp clinic, Pharmacist Nasir Ibrahim on behalf of other 2,000 colleagues expressed happiness for the gesture noting that, the senator has shown he has them in mind hence the donation.
