Three suicide bombers dead, 4 others injure as DG NEMA engages stakeholders on humanitarian interventions in Maiduguri

Three male suicide bombers attempted to enter some locations in the University of Maiduguri at early hours of friday.

According to a statement by Sani Datti, Spokeman of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) said that impressively, ‘the vigilant University’s Security and Vigilantes intercepted the suicide bombers. Immediately they detonated their explosives strapped in them and that led to injure of the two University’s security and two vigilantes.’

The incident occured while the new Director General of NEMA, Engr. Mustapaha Maihaja was in Maiduguri to meet directly with IDPs leaders and stakeholders to discuss ways forward in responding to humanitarian needs of the affected persons.

The remains of the three suicide bombers were evacuated to Specialists Hospital Maiduguri.
